Rajender Singh (Raaj) has over 20 years of experience in the corporate world with various Multi National Companies out of which 15 years with companies in the Financial Services space. Raaj belongs to a family of entrepreneurs, his father being the pioneer in earth moving equipment business out of Kolkata.
Raaj is a PGDBA and a rank holder CFA from ICFAI Hyderabad and had started his corporate career with German engineering giant, Siemens. He was handpicked by Siemens to attend a 2 year management programme with Indo German Training Centre an initiative of the Indo German Chamber of Commerce, Mumbai.
Amongst the various roles he has assumed are as Director with one of the leading boutique private bank of Swiss origin, Sarasin Alpen, heading sales for the largest mutual fund managers in the world Fidelity Mutual Fund for north India and has spent over five years managing wealth of several high net worth clients at Citibank and HSBC.
During his tenure at Fidelity, the assets under management grew from INR 4000 mn to INR 25000 mn from north India. At Citibank and HSBC, Raaj was advising over 100 clients, mostly entrepreneurs having portfolio investments averaging INR 10 million.
Raaj has worked for a real estate private equity with a remit to raise funds and was designated as VP – Investor Relations. Raaj also was briefly associated with the Angel Investors Consortium where he handled deal flow for early stage investments. He has evaluated over 100 early stage proposals during a brief period of 2 months, managed investment in one of the ideas and offered term sheets to at least 2 more.
Raaj is passionate about researching and advising entrepreneurs on wealth – creation, enhancement, protection and transmission to the next generation.
